Level 1 (Primary Teacher for Classes 1 to 5):

1. Completed Senior Secondary (or equivalent education) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
2. Completed Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) in accordance with NCTE regulations.​
3. Completed Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
4. Completed Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).​
5. Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).​

Level 2 (Upper Primary Teacher for Classes 6 to 8):

1. Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).​
2. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year bachelor's in education (B.Ed).​Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year bachelor's in education (B.Ed) in accordance with NCTE regulations.​
3. Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).​
4. Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
5. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year B.Ed (Special Education).
