Application Fee

UPSC Civil Services IAS & IFS Recruitment 2025 must pay an application fee as per their category: General/OBC: ₹100/-

SC/ST/PWD/Female Candidates: Exempted The application fee paid online via debit/credit cards, net banking, or UPI etc.

Age Limit

Minimum Age: 21 years

Maximum Age: 32 years

Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms:

OBC: 3 years

SC/ST: 5 years PWD: 10 years

Qualification

Educational Qualification

  1. IAS: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in any discipline.
  2. IFS: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in subjects like Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or Zoology or a degree in Agriculture, Forestry, or Engineering from a recognized university.

Short Description

The selection process for UPSC Civil Services and IFS consists of three stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination (Objective) – This consists of two papers: General Studies and CSAT. Candidates qualifying for IAS proceed to the Mains, while those applying for IFS take a separate Mains exam.
  2. Mains Examination (Descriptive) – Candidates who clear the Prelims are eligible for the Mains examination, which includes essay-type questions covering various subjects.
  3. Personality Test – Final shortlisted candidates undergo a personality assessment before selection.
